Rte 195 to Bassetts Bridge
road at Mansfield Center. The parking lot is where you begin. ( Not at the boat
launch) Follow the Paved road into the park this is easy walking stay with
the road 20 minutes. One small grade down a hill then along until you
first glimpse the ball fields and Stop! take the ski trail to the right.
Past a tree with arms outstretched and onward a couple minutes. Abandon
the ski trail for Nipmuck trail on your left. Folow blue dots until you
pass a steep drop at the right edge of trail. Pass by here carefully, then look
for a tree lightning has struck. You'll find your quarry behind it. Stamp in
secretly , replace and go on. Folow the blue dots of the Nipmuck. Up and
Down through Pine woods deep ,all round about, to the beginning you meet.
